Course Description:
This program is for committed instructors. Over 5 days we cover how to comprehensively and confidently teach a level one program. We build on teaching proficiency and perfect demonstration quality strokes. Lesson planning and safety are the foundations of this course. Paddle Canada Level Two Skills is a required prerequisite to participate. You are responsible for registering yourself as a Paddle Canada Instructor Candidate prior to the course start date. Basic First Aid and CPR certifications are required in order to complete this certification.
Cost:
- 5 full days with boat rental - $799
- 5 full days without boat rental - $675
- Drysuit rental (optional) - $35 per day
Prerequisites:
- Level Two Skills
- Personal paddling experience in light and moderate sea conditions or higher including overnight days - extended trips of 2 or more days totaling 10 overnights.
- Wilderness first aid (16 hours) with CPR is strongly recommended.
- Marine VHF Radio License is recommended.

- Level One Instructor Certification
